Our People

Leadership Team

I am the Principal of Masterton Primary School and the Lead Principal of the Remutaka Resource Teachers of Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) service, which supports over 4,500 students across 54 schools. My passion lies in special education, culturally responsive practice, and student well-being—areas I’ve led both here in Aotearoa and internationally. As a proud descendant of Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Porou, I bring my Māori heritage into every aspect of my leadership, helping to foster a strong sense of cultural identity and belonging for all ākonga. I am a committed advocate for Te Ara Whakamana, a mana-enhancing framework that supports both students and educators to thrive. In my role as President of the Masterton Principals’ Association, I remain focused on creating positive, inclusive, and successful learning environments for our tamariki, staff, and their whānau.

I’m the Deputy Principal at Masterton Primary School, where I lead with a deep commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive education. My areas of expertise include play-based learning, restorative practices, new entrant pedagogy, and curriculum leadership. I’ve taught across a range of school settings, which has shaped my ability to lead with both empathy and purpose. I’m especially passionate about special education and proudly play a leading role in our school’s Te Arawhakamana journey, an initiative that enhances students’ mana through culturally grounded frameworks. I set high expectations for both myself and others, and I believe strongly in the power of collaboration to uplift teaching and learning. Supporting our students, staff, and wider whānau to thrive is at the heart of everything I do.
