Policies

At Masterton Primary School, we are committed to maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date set of policies and procedures that reflect the latest educational standards and best practices. To ensure this, we use SchoolDocs, an online platform that allows us to manage and review our policies in line with current guidelines, legislation, and school-specific needs.

Our principal, board members, staff, and the wider school community all have access to the SchoolDocs platform, ensuring transparency and collaboration in the decision-making process. As part of our review process, we encourage our community to actively participate by providing feedback on policies when they are due for review.

MPS Attendance Management Plan 2026-2028

School Management Plan – Overview

Our School Management Plan provides a clear and strategic framework that guides how we operate as a school on a day-to-day basis while staying aligned with our long-term vision. It brings together our priorities across teaching and learning, student wellbeing, staff development, and school operations into a coherent and purposeful plan.

At Masterton Primary School, our management approach is grounded in high-impact teaching practices and explicit direct instruction, ensuring that all students have access to structured, engaging, and effective learning experiences. Alongside this, our commitment to Te Arawhakamana ensures that we actively promote mana-enhancing practices that support identity, wellbeing, and belonging for every learner.

The plan outlines clear systems, processes, and expectations across key areas such as curriculum delivery, attendance, behaviour, and staff support. It also ensures that resources are used effectively, roles and responsibilities are well defined, and progress is regularly monitored and reviewed.

Importantly, our School Management Plan is a living document. It is responsive to the needs of our students, staff, and community, and is continuously refined through reflection, evidence, and ongoing improvement. Through this approach, we aim to create a highly organised, supportive, and future-focused school environment where both students and staff can thrive.
